This policy explains what personal information Farmer's Link ("we", "us") collects when you use farmerslink.ca, place an order, or receive a delivery or curbside pickup, and how we handle it. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

  • Order and account details: your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and what you order. If you create an account, we also keep your account login details.
  • Age and identity check: our service is for adults 19+ only. New customers verify their identity with a photo of their government-issued photo ID plus a selfie, and the address on the ID must match the delivery address. We delete ID photos once verification is complete. We may also ask to see your ID at delivery or pickup.
  • Messages: what you send us by phone, text, email or web form.
  • Newsletter: your email address, if you sign up for our deals.

Cookies and similar tools

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies for these purposes:

  • Shopping cart and account: WooCommerce cookies keep your cart and login working.
  • Age check: the age-gate pop-up remembers that you confirmed you are 19+.
  • Newsletter: our sign-up form may remember that you have subscribed.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed.
  • Marketing and email: HubSpot, Omnisend and Brevo help us send our newsletter and understand how visitors interact with the site and our emails.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, the cart, login and age check may not work properly.

How we use your information

  • To confirm you are 19+ and verify your identity.
  • To prepare and deliver your order, or hand it over at curbside pickup, and to contact you about it.
  • To answer your questions.
  • To send you deals by email, only if you signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • To run, secure and improve our website.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • with service providers that help us run our business, such as website hosting, analytics (Google) and email and marketing tools (HubSpot, Omnisend and Brevo), and only as much as they need to do that work;
  • when the law requires us to.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, for example in the United States or Europe. When they do, your information may be subject to the laws of those countries.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it to handle your orders and for the purposes above, and as long as required to meet our legal and tax obligations. ID photos are deleted after verification. If you unsubscribe from our newsletter, we stop sending you marketing emails.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information. No website, email or messaging system is completely secure, so please avoid sending us more information than we ask for.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. Contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
